Who We Are
The Manhattan Beach Community Emergency Response Team Association (MBCERTA) is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created to enhance disaster preparedness and emergency response for the citizens of Manhattan Beach. We accomplish this through participation in community awareness events, various training programs, and drills and providing volunteer support to the Manhattan Beach Fire and Police Departments when a disaster strikes or upon activation by the Manhattan Beach Fire or Police Departments in the event of an emergency.

Attention CERT Members,
We need a few volunteers for some crucial positions in our organization.
CERT Website Maintenance
The first position is someone to maintain our CERT website, MBCERTA.org , updated with current information and training dates. This would take about 2-3 hrs. per month. The training would take about 3 hours.
Map Your Neighborhood Coordinator
The Map Your Neighborhood program is being restarted under MBFD and CERT in conjunction with Neighborhood Watch. Both CERT and NW watch will have Coordinators who schedule requests with our trained instructors via email and phone.
Other administrative duties include:

pamphlet distribution

reporting activity details to the City, etc.
Estimated commitment is 2 hours per week.
CERT Board of Directors Secretary
We are looking to fill the role of Secretary on our Board of Directors.
Duties include:

keeping the Minutes of our bi-monthly board meetings, along with various administrative duties.
The meetings are held the 1st Monday of every other month starting in January at 6:30 to 8:30pm at Fire Station 1. You would be trained by the current Board Secretary.
It is very important that these positions be filled to continue our mission of preparing the residents of Manhattan Beach to be able to respond to a major emergency in our community.
